Journey to NYC

Yesterday Melissa Bryant, who studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, joined me to wallow in the art scene of NYC for a day.  Our focus was Matisse in Search of True Painting, which we both loved because it reveals so well how Matisse explored a veriety of approaches to his compositions, achieving very different results.  The show is at the Met until March 17th but unfortunately, photography is not permitted

After that, we cruised around Chelsea, sampling the Zwerner, Marlborough, Pace, ACA, and the Gagosian gallery with its spectacular but disturbing exhibition of Jean-Michel Basquiat.  Came home tired and happy.

Well, this is not a technique or approach that I will tackle.
